The Beginnings of a Ministry
Ten years ago I attended a retreat feeling humbled that I had nothing to offer Jesus. I confided in Him that I was not an expert in anything, all I could do was talk and listen to people. It was then I heard a quiet whisper say, “That’s what I want you to do.” With blessings from friends and family, I began classes toward a Master’s Degree in counseling. Due to the demands of teaching, a 2 year program took 4 years to complete, but I received my degree in August of 2012.
Was I finished? No, I had another 3,000 hours of intern hours which I completed at Family Service Association in San Antonio. During this time, an amazing thing happened at a fundraising dinner for Hill Country Daily Bread, in 2014. At the end of the night, while the music played, a “vision popped into my mind of a small house with a large sign that read “Christian Counseling Center of Boerne.” Then again the next day I saw a magazine at home with a similar sign that read “Christian Life Center.” It struck me as a clear indication of the job God had in mind for me. With close to 4,000 hours of experience in the field, God’s new ministry has begun at 624 N. Main.
The vision is to help hurting people.
The goal is to begin a ministry in the name of Jesus.
My hope is to offer affordable therapy through the use of a sliding scale fee and your insurance.
The majority of my career has been spent teaching school and attempting to make a difference in the lives of children. During that time, I discovered that if I could reach the adults and ease their pain, it would benefit all others surrounding them including their children.
To be able to have increased knowledge and resources, I attended and graduated from UTSA with a Masters Degree in Counseling and spent the next four years counseling a variety of clients with Depression, Anxiety, Domestic Violence and many other painful experiences using the skills I learned to help hurting people. I wanted to start a Christian Counseling Center to use the gifts God gave me to help all people who are looking for peace and healing.
